Work while being sick?

I felt very cold after got in the office even though it was 69F today and I am sure I had enough clothes for that kind of temperature. That made me suspect that I caught a cold again, a really bad one. These symptoms are exactly the same as the ones I had one week ago.I had to go back home and put on more clothes and made a ginger soup for myself after I threw two tylenol pills in my mouth. Hopefully ginger soup can make me sweat and that should make me feel better.

I have to get back to the office to do a scheduled knowledge transfer at 2PM. My body tells me not to go, but my heart tells me to go. I will just have the ginger soup with me and try my best.

Resigned

I resigned from my current employer last week after two years of service as a Senior UNIX Systems Administrator and Friday will be my last day here. I am very excited about starting my new job in Dallas, TX, but also feel very sad that I have to seperate with my wife and my daughter for a while. She has a job here and it will take her some time to find a job in Dallas. But that is just life, nothing is perfect, how sad!

I will be pretty much doing knowledge transfers today and tomorrow. Unfortunately I am starting having a fever again. Not sure what happened, but my daughter has been caughing and having runny nose since Saturday. I really hope I will get well before this weekend since I will have to drive 1500 miles from Maryland to Dallas during this weekend! It won't be fun to drive that far while being sick…

Oh well…

Sick again

I have been pretty much sick all last week, runny nose, sore throat, coughing… I don't know where I got it from, but most likely either from my daughter or my wife. They were pretty much sick last week too. Fortunately they have recovered and I am left to be the only one being sick.

I don't usually get sick very often, probably just once every year. So I don't feel like to see a doctor unless I am really really sick. And even when I get sick, I don't remember to check the temperature or drink more water. My wife does all that for me, except when it comes to drinking water she comes to me and forces me to drink it :) I have been behaving like this for basically my whole life. Sometimes I realizes that I am not that young anymore. Being sick like this once again reminds me of that :)

I am having a fever again today, so I stayed home sick in hopes of getting some rest and recovering faster…

Work late Friday

It's Friday, but I had to stay late and reset a Sun StorEdge 6320 array used by the developers. We had a planned power outage on 1/7 and some of the trays on this array had blue lights on them for whatever reason we didn't know. I opened a case with Sun but they didn't figure out what caused the blue lights since they couldn't telnet to those trays from the SSP to gather logs. So the only thing we could do is to reset the whole array and make the blue lights go away. The array has just been reset and all the blue lights went away. Not that exciting, but at least I can go home and enjoy a good weekend!

Not my first blog, but one that I am going to stick with for a while

This isn’t my first blog, I had one before at BlogSpot. I have just been busy and lazy to write up things that came cross my mind. This time I am going to try to stick with it. We will see.
